Explanation of Quote
emu: the quote "Those who know they do not know, know that, to know is to know what they do not know" by Ibn Sina... can some one explain to me what it means?
I think it means people who think are smart think they know everything, they're blind to their deficiencies. However, what ibn Sina is trying to say, I guess is that, if you know and admit to yourself that you don't know certain things, that means you're a wiser person because having that knowledge about yourself is a kind of knowing, a kind of knowledge itself! Does that make sense?? Maybe others can supplement...

thnx YOW, and it makes sense. i just got a bit confused with all the "knowing"s.
After 10 years I think I've understood the statement - it is addressing the people aware of their ignorance. Last section means that the more you learn, the more you become aware of how little you know.
