Platonic love!
"Platonic love is very much a part of any close friendship. But such a love doesn't always stay platonic. Sometimes it turns into passionate love. Crossing that line, between friendship and love, can be both beautiful and extremely difficult."
Interesting stuff I picked up in a cyber-ally. Watdya think?

What is platonic? The thesaurus says its like non-physical, friendly, spiritual. So I'm assuming that ur meaning non-physical love? This quote talks about platonic love between male and female (I thougnt so). And I guess in a western context it could have some truth in it. But Islamically we all love each other for the sake of Allah (SWT) as brothers and sisters in Islam. And thats platonic love right (non-physical). So I think different societies define platonic love differently. In the non-Muslim world there are so many cases of one night stands and other such platonic relationships becoming a "passionate love" (remember the incident with the health minister, Tony Abbott?). So they would all agree with it. But I think it depends on how you define platonic love. In the Islamic world love is (or should be) for the sake of Allah whereas the motives behind love, whether platonic or passionate, is different. So once again its all based on intentions. well thats my opinion. But i'm not a genius with analytical stuff so ei analysis e onek khut ache. So feel welcome to pick it out. Salams.
Yeah, I like you definition of Platonic love. Like you said !ishi!, it's not an Islamc concept anyway. Its called Platonic because apperently 'Plato' came up with the idea of this kind of love. I came across somewhere that platonic love could be between same-sex friends, I guess a best-friend? best-mate situation thing. But what happens if this love becomes 'passionate' (ASTAGFIRULLAH). I guess thats why it could never relate to the Islamic Ideology.
